Stephen Macoritto


Stephen Macoritto began his study of Danzan Ryu Jujitsu, November 1974, at the Granada Hills Jujitsu Kai under Kurt Evans. He continued Danzan Ryn Jujitsu training under Sensei Richard Pietrell & received his Shodan, March 21, 1981 (SCJA). He was the Assistant Instructor at Granada Hills Jujitsu Kai 1979-82. At this time he received personal training from Prof Tony Muran for 2-3 years. He trained a year in Kashima Shin Ryu Kenjitsu & Jujitsu with Richard Pietrelli. He was head instructor of Granada Hills Jujitsu Kai from 1982-4. He studied Seki Jujitsu with Prof Jack Seki, Hachidan from Japan 1983-4. In 1985-95, Stephen studied & taught at Prof Dave Bellman's School. He received four years of instruction from Professors Dom & Helen Carollo & others such as Prof Mike Lynch & Nic Carollo.

He assisted Prof Bellman in the formulation & testing of his Mushin Ryu Jujitsu System till 1997. He began a commercial Jujitsu School with Prof Bellman as a Co-Sensei from 1993-97.

He studied Filipino Kali & Jeet Kune Do Concepts (1993-96) with Guro Ralph Bustamente, a certified Instructor under Dan Inosanto & Burton Rich&dson. He continued these studies at the Side Kicks Academy, Canyon Country, CA 1997-98. Since November of 1998, he has studied Quest Jijitsu (Jujitsu, Lee Jun Fan Gung Fu, Filipino M.A., etc.) with Lawrence Boydston.
