Sensei John Ledoux after receiving his
Nidan.
John began his martial art career at age 7 in 1985 at the Kodenkan Jujitsu School of Profs. Sig Kufferath and Tony Janovich in Santa Clara. After moving to the adult class, he attained the rank of advanced blue belt (Yonkyu). When the Kodenkan dojo moved to Campbell for several years, John continued his Jujitsu training at the Ternion dojo and achieved his Shodan. After the Kodenkan moved back to Santa Clara, John continued his training there.
On May 28, 1998, John took and passed his Nidan test from Profs. Kufferath and Janovich. The test consisted of all techniques from Yawara, Nage, Shime, Oku, Kiai no Maki, Fusegi Jutsu, Shinnin no Maki and Shin Yo no Maki. Then he had to endure 3-man continuous attack that lasted 10 minutes. Out of a perfect score of 822, John scored 764 points from Prof. Janovich and 768 points from Prof. Kufferath. To say the least, his performance was quite impressive.
In addition to his martial arts studies, John is a full-time college student.
